Kattima’s 35,000 sq.ft Monument Manufacturing factory is one of the largest facilities of its kind in India. The factory is situated on a total land area of over 120,000 sq.ft. The factory, yards and special dedicated zones for cutting, polishing, special works, packing and loading are all designed for streamlined and efficient wholesale monument manufacturing.
At Katti-Ma, we have very experienced slab inspectors who specialize in picking out slabs that are worthy of becoming beautiful monuments. They have a trained eye to reject slabs with even the minutest of defects such as mold, veins, fissures, cracks, air-cracks, double colors and so on. High quality slab inspection is the reason why our return or rejection rate has been less that 0.5% over several decades now!
At Katti-Ma, we take great care to pack your monuments. We use a planing machine to process packing wood to eliminate the risk of molding and breakage that can develop over a lengthy and salty sea journey.
We also use Eco-Packing, also called as Sri’s Packing, invented by the Late Mr. Sriram, Ex Factory Manager at Katti-Ma. Using 70% less wood than traditional packing, this eco-packing option has become the most popular packing choice for our long-standing customers. We also offer traditional full-wood packing as well.
Ordering Bespoke Granite Monuments from Katti-Ma Granite
A headstone or tombstone monument is a very personal and sentimental way of remembering a loved one who has passed on. Custom or bespoke granite monuments are therefore very popular. We at Katti-Ma Granite routinely manufacture hundreds of bespoke granite monuments every month.
Here is how you can order your bespoke granite monument from us
Step 1 – Show us what you like
Most of our customers choose an existing monument for us to emulate, based on inspiration and sentiment they feel about a particular monument they saw at a cemetery. Ordering a bespoke monument therefore usually starts with a picture of a monument that the client sends us.
Step 2 – CAD Preview
Our experienced team of designers create a detailed CAD design that exactly emulates the monument the customer had presented as a picture or photograph. CAD designs we send to the customer will include a front, back and top view of the monument, complete with all dimensions, polish, finish and other style details and features depicted in the design.
Step 3 – Customer Modifications / Sign-Off
More often than not, customers readily sign-off on CAD designs we present them with. But, if the customer wants modifications, we happily oblige and rework and re-submit CAD designs until the customer is fully satisfied with the design preview.

Step 4 – Production and Final Sign-Off
Our experienced team of carvers, sculptors and monument makers replicate the CAD design to perfection, delivering a monument that springs to life on stone. We require our CAD design team to intricately work with our monument manufacturers and artists on the production floor, to ensure that designs flawlessly transform into finished products. Please see several examples of bespoke monument orders below, with pictures showing how a customer’s photograph is transformed into a CAD design and then into a work of art that is a granite monument.

Packing Options
We at Katti-Ma Granite take an enormous amount of care in packing the monuments we manufacture for our customers. Our breakage rate during shipping and delivery is almost non-existent. We offer three different packing options. Dies and bases are always individually packed as separate uninstalled pieces.
Eco-Style
Uses significantly less wood than our standard wood packing option. Less wood, but without compromises to the structural integrity of the pack. This is achieved by ingenious placement of both full-size and much smaller wood planks to achieve a compact but robust pack.
Over the last decade, our eco-style packing option has been the most sought-after option chosen by our customers. Less wood used from the planet, at a cost that is lesser to you. It’s a win-win.
Wood-Pack
A more traditional wooden pallet packing style featuring full-size wooden pallets sandwiching monuments from the top and bottom. It costs more than our eco-style packing but is still a popular choice for some conservative buyers.
Custom Pack
Have a packing style of your own choice? Or, do you need individual crate packing for each of the monuments you order? Want to specify exactly how many monuments to pack in a crate? We will accommodate all of the above requests and more. Just tell us your preferences and we will pack your monuments the way you want it.
Packing Precautions We Follow
- Dies are banded a few inches in from the ends, to avoid undue stress points
- Use of only 0.0025 Mil plastic or heavier
- Dies packed face down, to preserve finishes
Payment Terms
Our payment terms require a 50% payment at the time the purchase order is placed. The remainder 50% is to be paid when the order has been dispatched from our end.

Steeled
Another popular artistic finish style featuring a bright-white and textured feel. It is achieved by sandblasting the granite with steel shots. .
Dusted
Another artistic finish type achieved by sandblasting with abrasive grit. It is similar to a steeled finish texture, but without the bright white finish.
